Juvenile Detention Center, Lima

Thresholds was first taught at the Juvenile Detention Center in Lima in 2002.  Since then, 35 different teachers have taught there and 140 boys and girls have graduated. Because of the rapid turnover of the residents there are 4 sessions over a 2 day period. Classes include both 1 on 1 and group sessions, and a Guide has been adapted for use with teenagers. Ron Johnson, the J.D.C. Program Director, has contributed greatly to the program's success.

Thresholds teachers are asked to have prior experience in adult facilities. No additional security clearance is required.
