The fourth step in the decision-making process is to evaluate the possibilities. To evaluate means to examine the possibilities in order to select just one.

The symbol we use for evaluating the possibilities is one triangle within other, which stands for desirability, risk and others.

At this point in the process we must first eliminate any possibilities that cannot help us reach the goal.  Next select those possibilities  that we are most likely to act on based on:

desirability....how good or useful to me ?

risk...any danger to me or threat to my goal?

and affect on others...how will the consequences impact on family, friends and the community?
